Magazine Covers - World Music
In this project during the HND course, I was required to create two front covers and a mast head (title) for a magazine called World Music. The project given was a fun task to understand magazine layouts, using grids and working a mast head (title) for the cover. There was the option to change the title but still emphasis music as the main subject.
I took inspiration from the V magazine mast head and wanted to create something that was striking and grabbed customers attention instead of the usual mast heads most magazines have, which tend to be small and in the top right corner etc. So I went with two W's and re-arranged them to make WM as World Music, then selecting a few music icons such as Taylor Swift and Madonna for the front covers. Please note the images were sourced online.
I must admit, looking at these pieces more, it has a more glamour, fashion feel to them which could of came from the V magazine too. In general I loved what I came up with, a piece that I am proud of and that also made me come out my comfort zone of staying safe.
