CHERRY RESIDENTS
I first discovered this building during the first month of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
And it met me with its shut windows and no lights.

However, in the late spring of 2022 and even more during the summer, the local residents began to return, likely missing their beloved Vinnytsia neighborhood, also known as “Vyshenka” (English: “Cherry”).

Normally living in the no-rush community where everyone knows each other, now they looked a bit tired, quite lonely, and a bit tense due to the ongoing war.

Nevertheless, thanks to their constantly opened balconies, ajar curtains on their windows, and endless hanging drying laundry, they finally gave me a minute-long opportunity to see them.

Here are these hard-mined portraits of Cherry residents.
