Develop a look that reflects the ethos of the existing branding of Fifteen.
Design and layout spread for a recipe book for Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant utilising Adobe InDesign features of object libraries, grids, paragraph and character styles, type crafting and packaged for print.
The graphics here show each double page spread in it's entirety.
Blue: I chose blue as the main colour to feature throughout the cook book, as it represents the hope and promise of a better life for the people involved in Fifteen project. The confidence they gain will bring the virtues of trust and reliability into their lives, thus contributing in a positive way to a better world and greater appreciation for the simple and important things in life.
I drew the warm complementary orange from the actual colour sampled from the bricks featured at the front of the restaurant.
A clean, well ordered layout allows the graphics featured in this cook book to communicate the special qualities of the Fifteen restaurant project.
In keeping with the theme and philosophy of the Fifteen restaurant, I have designed the front and back cover to feature a fabric striped blue apron, as worn by apprentice chefs at the Jamie Oliver restaurant, with a screen print of the FIFTEEN logo in the center.
The colour coding on the contents menu allows for ease of navigation, as colour recognition, along with a symbol creates a continually smooth eye flow throughout.
