Illustration I made for the "CriAtivo" challenge, proposed by the illustrator and designer Amaury Filho. The brief asked for the illustration of a promotional poster for a classic rock band, from the late 70s to the late 80s. The artwork should be inspired by a specific song by the band. From the list of bands that the briefing made available, I chose Rush for being one of the bands I most appreciate, even more so in this period of the late 70s.

I wanted to simulate a "screen tone" impression to preserve the retro aesthetic of the time.

The song I chose was the classic "A Farewell to Kings", from the homonymous album, released in 1977. The date is a real one from a concert that took place in Montreal - Quebec, one of the several dates of the tour of this album, which lasted from August 1977 to April 1978. Hope you enjoy it.
