Mochi Package Design

米弎豆小判餅是由一對台日夫妻創立的品牌。在今年的春節，我為他們的小判餅設計了一款限定的年節包裝。在初期的設計階段，我們探討了許多不同的設計形式，例如竹籃、特殊結構的紙盒、兔子形狀等等。最終，他們提出了「御守」這個概念，希望將日本歷史文化與台灣鹿港傳統參拜文化相結合，象徵著來自日本的Misato，透過不同的文化體驗和思想感受，在鹿港扎根並散發新的能量和活力。

Misato Kobanmochi is a brand founded by a Taiwanese-Japanese couple. For this year's Spring Festival, I designed a limited edition holiday packaging for their Kobanmochi.

In the initial design stage, we explored many different design forms, such as bamboo baskets, specially structured paper boxes, rabbit shapes, and more.

Eventually, they proposed the concept of "Omamori", hoping to combine Japanese historical culture with Taiwan's Lukang traditional pilgrimage culture, symbolizing the Misato from Japan, rooting and emitting new energy and vitality through different cultural experiences and thoughts in Lukang.

以簡單直接的視覺風格為主，將包裝的外形設計成御守的形狀。御守最早被用來辟邪和解除厄運，後來演變成生活中各種各樣的願望和守護的象徵，包括安全、財富、良緣、招財等。

The packaging design is primarily a simple and direct visual style, with the shape of the packaging designed in the form of an Omamori. Omamori was originally used to ward off evil and relieve misfortunes, later evolving into various symbols of wishes and protection in daily life, including safety, wealth, good relationships, and money drawing, etc.

因此，我們選擇了三個常見的祈福主題「愛情」桃花、「財運」招財貓、「開運」燈籠，作為小判餅外包裝的視覺主題。希望透過這些主題的設計，提高包裝的趣味性，並滿足他們對於不同願望的需求。在購買小判餅的同時，消費者也能感受到一份「御守」的儀式感。願望的明確化和多樣性是本次設計的核心。

Therefore, we chose three common blessing themes - "love" peach blossom, "wealth" lucky cat, and "fortune" lantern, as the visual themes for the packaging of Kobanmochi . Through the design of these themes, we hope to increase the fun of the packaging and satisfy their needs for different wishes. At the same time of purchasing Kobanmochi , consumers can also feel a sense of "Omamori" ritual. The clarity and diversity of wishes are the core of this design.

米弎豆小判餅是一種結合了九州文化意象的燒米餅，日本店主從九州帶來了這種道地的美食，研究改良後現做現烤，讓消費者能夠品嘗到最新鮮的味道。米弎豆的名字源自於米食和豆餡的結合，外皮酥脆，充滿著米香，內餡甜度適中。

Misato Kobanmochi is a type of baked rice cake that combines the cultural imagery of Kyushu. The Japanese shop owner brought this authentic cuisine from Kyushu and after researching and improving it, it is now freshly made and baked on the spot, allowing consumers to taste the freshest flavors. The name "Misato " comes from the combination of rice and bean paste, with a crispy outer layer and full of rice fragrance, and a moderately sweet inner filling.
