I wanted to create a website that might exist for a company in the 2004 TV series Battlestar Galactica universe, that epitomized what a corporation in that universe would be. To do this, I had to do a great deal of research into the show, it's less successful prequel series Caprica, and the original 1970's series to better understand the storyline. A fictional company was created that would specialize in aerospace defense technologies, particularly the manufacture of the famoud Colonial MkII Viper (an inter-atmospheric combat vehicle). A light brand was created which, along with typographic and stylistic useages from the TV series, informed the website's general aesthetic. As this project was student work, mainly exploring the concept of the idea and it's development as a modern website, the artwork and imagery was taken from existing sources and only slightly modified to fit the site. In this way, the site remained true to the storyline of the show, while also conveying the original idea and showing a much cleaner more easily accessible coorporate web presence. Read Less
