Calendar Shoot and Styling
When someone says saree, do you ever imagine a male wearing a saree or someone playing sports in a saree?
When we hear the word saree, we all create a particular image in our minds. It is usually that of a female. Sometimes we imagine someone at our home, like our mom or grandma doing household chores, a school farewell party, or some movie or actress wearing a saree. Without ever meaning to, we have started believing in a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing. This is called stereotyping.
For our calendar, we tried to contradict the stereotypes related to tasks that can be done while wearing a saree. We also experimented with different types of drappings and makeup. We tried to depict our concept with exaggeration and intense poses. We tried to make our calendar attractive and appealing to the viewers.
