Crime and Punishment

Self inciated project
Resulting in the creation of a 5 colour screenprint on textured GFSmith strathmore grande paper in an edition of 40 and a one colour line art edition on GFsmith colourplan in an edition of 4 

Based on the novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky

The women drawn is based on a portrait of Napoleon wife Josephine de beauharnais, as a visualisation of Sonia in reaction to Raskolnikov attempts to become a Napoleon type figure.
 
the two skulls are representative of Alyona and Lizaveta. 
The overall design is set too be a visual of a portrait locket and the type box is intended to be reminiscent of the head of an ax
