This is probably Auckland's most iconic building and sits on an elevated position overlooking the city. Officially this is called the Auckland War Memorial Museum and the area in front of the Museum is consecrated ground. It was this area that underwent a revamp with the special addition of the Maori Memorial fountain. Every ANZAC Day - April 25th see's thousands of people converge here to celebrate and witness the services that take place.
