Otherlands why... In 1971, a kidnapping took place in a small town in Sweden.
After ruling on a lawsuit that the ex-husband lost, he kidnapped his ex-wife and child.
His plan was to escape with his child to his native country Yugoslavia.
It failed. And he spent 2 years in jail.
Years later, it emerged through an investigation by a Swedish lawyer that the ex-wife had abused rights of access.
In Sweden, the law doesn't seem to have changed on that yet.
After serving his prison sentence, the man had returned to his homeland. Where he died 6 years later of a tumor.
The child suffered and never got to know his father.

A law that has not yet been updated in Sweden.
Recently there was another similar incident in Sweden because of a similar issue.
A detective then took control and intervened.
The child was allowed to return with the father to his home-country.
A law in Sweden that has not yet been updated. Still hasn't.

P.s. in the animation you don't see the child. That was deliberately designed that way to make it feel like you can't see someone, but what it's all about in the end.....Otherlands.
