Set the scene: Here a created a 3D 'downtown' street scene with roads to help give me an idea. I angled and extruded the letters to look like high rise buildings. However, the perspective is way off; we'll have to fix that.
Let's remove the roads and try a different perspective. Let's also add additional dimension to the brand letters. Hmm, better, but the perspective is still not quite right. How do I make this look more like a logo?
Let's add a box with a solid color background and play with the opacity of the surrounding shapes (buildings). Let's also consider adding a gradient to the blue background to give it more of a dynamic look. I'll also change the color of the letter faces so that they contrast more with the background.
Wrap it up: Let's rearrange the letters and perspective to better suit the bounding box of the logo; additional finishing touches and we're done! The client was very happy with the results. Time to close out this project and begin working on the next one! I hope this design direction has inspired your next logo project. If so, please share with me!
