The Special Collections gallery in D.H. Hill Library at State is divided into a series of glass cases; we organized the exhibition's content to illuminate the people, programs and history of 4-H as they relate to the four central organizational themes identified in the 4-H motto.
Vinyl text on the exterior of the glass display cases and a hanging system we devised to allow panels to live at different depths within the cases helped to bring dimension to the exhibit.
4-H is the largest youth organization in North Carolina with more than 20,000 youth and adult volunteers and almost a quarter-million participants. Its familiar emblem — the green four-leaf clover — represents the 4-H focus on better living through the cornerstone ideas of “Head, Heart, Hands and Health.”
