Infographic Project- How to Throw a Fastball

This is an infographic illustration that I designed in a vector illustration class. The goal of this project was to illustrate a 5-step process with minimal if any description text added. I pushed my illustration skills during this project to create each of the characters and showcase their movements in an exaggerated and unique way.

These are inspirational photos that I used to create each of the throwing movements in my vector illustration. I utilized primarily the pen tool to outline them and then exaggerate their movements.

This is the color pallet I chose for the illustration. I chose these because they use muted tones of each color which added to the vintage feel I wanted the infographic to have.

This example shows a little bit of the process of creating each character's movement in the sketching phase. These were the sketches before I added customization to them and dramatized their movements to make the illustrations more unique.

These two photos demonstrate the placement of elements on the infographic and showcase the attention to detail. Each of the steps has a character with exaggerated movements and arrows to illustrate the instructions for the step in place of textual instructions.
These are mockups I created to showcase the use of this infographic in a real-life opportunity. I imagine this infographic being used at a children's tryout or training camp to illustrate the basics of how to throw a baseball to a young audience. The left photo is an artboard that can be used for a demonstration to the children and the right photo is a poster they could take with them to study, and further understand the teachings of the movements.
