This work was inspired by the work of Kazimir Malevich, a Ukrainian avant-garde artist and art theorist, the founder of Suprematism, one of the founders of Cubofuturism. The coat of arms of Ukraine is depicted here in the genre of Suprematism.
Like many outstanding figures of Ukrainian culture, Kazimir Malevich became a victim of Stalinism. In the fall of 1930, during an interrogation by the chekists in Leningrad, Kazimir Malevich said that his nationality is Ukrainian. He was accused of Polish espionage, and is threatened with execution. He stayed in prison for three months and as a result of the torture, the artist's health was significantly undermined and he died in 1935.
During his life, Malevich was a witness and a participant in many terrible events for my country - the revolution and the establishment of Soviet occupation power. The Holodomor, which he depicted in his works. Stalin's repressions, which shortened his life.
There is a lot of symbolism in this picture. It contains the style established by the artist. A style that became a breakthrough in the art of its time. And also, it depicts the coat of arms of Ukraine. The style of which the world is beginning to discover for itself today.
One of the theories says that the word LIBERTY was hidden in our coat of arms. And the liberty is what we all carry in ourselves. Malevich, despite the terrible events that accompanied him, continued to create and make the world a better place. Modern people, despite the war, unite, bite into the future and make the world better. Because the liberty, the freedom of creativity and the desire to create are among the most important values that exist.
