The Expedition
Digital Edge Awards runner up.
The Expedition explores racial disparity and social justice in Camden, London, through the design of a building that symbolizes the struggle of the Windrush generation. The building is intended to be a place of rest, joy and reflection for all visitors, with a façade material that rusts over time, symbolising the struggle of the Windrush generation. The design aims to create a space that represents the emotional journey experienced by people, and to allow visitors to understand and relate to the hardships people faced through architecture.
Sarah’s work stood out in particular for her impressive use of video and wide use of Adobe tools. Doing justice to her subject matter she presented it with individuality and flair that allowed her voice to shine through. Going to great lengths to outline her working process and the ways she had used Creative Cloud apps impressed the judges.
