Casa Di Galles, meaning ‘House of Wales’ in Italian, is a members-only establishment nestled in the heart of Cardiff. It provides a space for like-minded individuals to come together, network, and collaborate, featuring a co-working area, coffee shop, restaurant, barbershop, and salon.
Drawing inspiration from Italian architectural and interior design features, such as the intricate tiling found in Venice's San Marco and the charming storefront signs of Florence, we created a captivating ambiance that embodies the essence of Italy. This design approach was a nod to the Italian heritage of the client, Alessandro.
Please note: This project did not make it to completion.
Brand Submark
The doorframe submark is a distinctive representation of the Casa Di Galles building's facade, which is a grade-listed structure. This plays a prominent role in the brands marketing materials and serves as the only signage visible on the building's exterior, piquing the curiosity of passers-by. Only members or those interested in joining the exclusive club would recognise the submark, adding to the brand's allure.
The submark would also be featured on collateral that members can take away from the space, such as coffee cups and tote bags, subtly promoting the brand to the wider public.
Iconography
We designed a collection of sleek and understated icons to represent the five distinct areas of the space -  the workspace, cafe, restaurant, barbershop, and salon. These icons would serve as directional aids within the space and would be accompanied by the respective Italian and English translations.
