YAO is an eco-friendly and sustainable brand concerned about the environment and people’s well-being. It’s a line of hair products made from natural extracts, oils, vitamins, minerals and amino acids. It arises from the need to help people feel confident and proud of themselves.
Inspired by the people in Huangluo Yao, the first long-haired village in the world, we created the brand's visual identity through playful colors, a simple yet elegant typography and the iconic patterns that were inspired by the rice water the village women use to clean their hair every day.
