BOOK COVER DESIGN
 

We were tasked with redesigning the cover for the sattirical novel 'What a Carve Up!' by Jonathan Coe. In order to give the cover or more approachable, identifiably modern feel I decided to keep the illustration simple in it's use of colours and form. 

I created a silhouette design, depicting the Winshaw family tree, giving each character an individual appearance. For Godfrey's portrait, whose death the plot revolves around, I depicted his death physically in the fall and breaking of his portrait.

I kept the typography simple and centred, not taking away from the design. I found the overall layout of the cover to well executed and was proud with the outcome and its relevance to the narrative.
