ACSF Implements Flight Data Monitoring Program

An experienced aviation professional, Edgar Alacan co-founded and serves as the managing director of Jets.com, a private jet travel provider in New York. Edgar Alacan maintains his membership with the Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the highest safety standard in aviation.

Before 2022 ended, ACSF partnered with aviation technology innovators CloudAhoy and AirSync to implement a low-cost Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) solution for small aircraft operators. This is ACSF’s response to the “Most Wanted List” of the National Transportation Safety Board, which recommended using the FDM program to capture and analyze flight data.

During the ACSF’s implementation of the FDM program, CloudAhoy will allow the use of its pilot-centric Flight Operations Quality Assurance (P-FOQA), a software used for data analysis. AirSync will provide ACSF members access to data collection hardware and connectivity. ACSF
Will serve its members as a third-party FDM advisor and educational resource.

In the past, the use of the FDM program was accessible, for the most part, only to medium and large cabin aircraft operators. With ACSF’s implementation of the FDM program, light, turboprop, and piston jet operators gain access to the benefits of this important innovation at a much lower cost.
