WAVES
When I first glanced at the dreamy garment constructed out of fairy dust and soul sacrifices at a friend's home, resting upon a mannequin, I was immediately captivated. 'I had to let it loose, I have to breathe life into it', was the first thought that crossed my mind. I did eventually convince my dear friend to allow me to use the garment for a photoshoot (under her keen supervision, of course) and we were all set. One sunny afternoon, we discreetly set off to an abandoned dam with our model who caught every single satellite's attention and proceeded to conduct the shoot. The garment was created with the inspiration evidently being taken from 'ocean waves'. I tried my best to do justice to the theme with the photographs as well, imbibing the visuals with a majestic sense of being ethereal, calm, immensely vast and unimaginably powerful. A marvel.
It comes and goes in waves. Sadness, sorrow, grief. I lay adrift, the last ounce of my hope withering away. Will I see a shore again?
The blinding sun showered rays upon my frail self from upon a cloudless sky. My soul hovers over me. I'm parched. I've no more tears, no more prayers. I long for the embrace of the cold, dark waters much beneath me. To disintegrate into droplets.
The ocean breathes, she heaves, she shimmers. She is merciful. Her touch as tender as that of a young mother's.
She whispers a lullaby in my ears. One of the tides and of terrible anguish. Of my kind borne of her womb who've ravaged her.
My tears dissolves into the endless blue.
I am reborn now, I'm of the seas. A goddess. I shall breathe life again into a world violated. For I am life itself.
The ocean waves rise and fall.
