Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1875-1911) was a Lithuanian composer and artist who is considered one of the most important cultural figures in the history of Lithuania. He was a pioneer in Lithuanian classical music, blending elements of national folk music with contemporary European styles. Čiurlionis was also a talented painter and graphic artist, creating a unique style of art that combined symbolism, Art Nouveau, and elements of Lithuanian folklore. He often used music and art together to create multimedia performances, which he called "symphonies of the soul." Čiurlionis's work was largely unrecognized during his lifetime, but after his death, he became a symbol of Lithuanian national identity and a source of inspiration for many Lithuanian artists and composers.
