 ARTSX

ARTSX is an event that Bowling Green State University holds once a year to display all of the current students art work. It is open and free to the public and is all about trying to get the community together through art. I worked with developing the cover for the mailer and I assisted in organizing some of the graphic content of the map. For the installation, I collaborated in the design and production of the piece. I compiled the photography for the fourth panel of the installation and worked in applying the vinyl. The concept behind ARTSX came from the Cabinets of Curiosities, which originated in Renaissance Europe as a means of categorizing objects. Cabinets of Curiosities was initially called Wunderkammer and was thought to symbolically represent a memory theater or a theater of the world. The conceptual intent behind ARTSX was to bring forth the notion of a World of Wonder or a catalogued Wonderland. The creative abstract behind the work came from the looking glass in Alice in Wonderland. We wanted to project the idea of the logo breaking through the space to hide and reveal layers.
