466/64 Nelson Mandela Foundation
The brief was to redesign the Nelson Mandela Foundation 46664 logo. The inspiration for the execution came from an image of Nelson Mandela looking out from a prison cell. The stoic posture in the photo demonstrates the presence of his resilience with a deep overtone of hopefulness.
The design application inspiration came from the patterns on the signature shirts the famous former statesman used to wear. We took a small section and set it in a kaleidoscope to create a new design that we can use in the 466/64 branding of collateral. We combined all of them to form a new unique design for the campaign. Nelson Mandela has always been known for his vibrant printed shirts.
The campaign idea of communication was to translate that the spirit of Mandela lives in all of us. And it is necessary to occupy that space to help liberate others and be light in our unique way.
