CÉZANNE FRAME

Digital Art

I'm very proud to have done this illustration to the Masp (Art Museum of São Paulo). I don't need to say that the painting is from Paul Cézzane, a artist that is part of the collection of Masp. I stayed just a few nights without sleep and some liters (yes Liters) of Red bull to finish this job...

This frame tells us the history of the Painting "Madame Cézanne in a Red Dress" by Paul Cézanne. The graven images in the frame were inspired by his own paintings. So I will try to summarize very shortly the history:

"...In 1839 Paul Cézanne borned in Aix-en-Provence, France. He studies to do the will of your father, but what he realy want to do is Art. So he moves to Paris and is surrounded by great masters of painting like Pissaro, Matisse and others. A day he was painting a model called Hortence, they started to date her and some time later born his son, but he keeps his love and the baby in secret of his family, cause they they would not accept. They move to a new house, but he has spends so much time off painting with Pissarro, that piss her off. But just in 1886 he assumed Hortence and married her. After this he painted the frame "Madame Cézzane in a Red Dress". They always fought each other, and sleep in separated beds, sometimes in differents houses. Cézzane now is old and sick, and a day he was painting outdoor, and started to raining hard, so hard that he passed out. A few days later he died, but before this he took out the Hortece's name of his on will, because Hortece burned out all the things of his late mother."

A Special thanks to the Art Director Fabio Astolpho and Art Buyer Alessandra Salles for the opportunity and trust.
