Juno Smart Collar
Introducing Juno — a smart collar designed to elevate and strengthen the connection between you and your pet.
Our goal was to create a brand and product experience where luxury meets approachable and function meets fashion. We saw an opportunity to improve upon the functionality of a traditional smart collar, elevate the aesthetic to match the owner's style, and create a more considered user experience. With its universal design, Juno can be used on pets of all shapes, sizes, and breeds, ensuring that they can always find their way back home.
Our Process
Logo & Brand Identity
The design of the Juno brand strikes the right balance between luxury and approachability. The final brandmark and design system have a sophisticated and refined aesthetic, with a touch of playfulness. The Juno brand symbol is a custom location icon which is symbolic of the brand's primary purpose — to ensure that owners always know where their pet is.
The Device
Juno was designed as a 2-part assembly. This allows the user to remove and charge the tracking pod without having to remove the entire collar. This 2-part design communicates that both parts are important for the product to function properly and that the collar is incomplete without the puck, similar to how a pet owner is incomplete without their best friend.
The Packaging Experience
Our objective was to design premium and sustainable packaging for an engaging and layered unboxing experience. To achieve this, we employed a square box with rounded edges to convey approachability, and used eco-friendly paper pulp for the materiality. Additionally, we included a small treat in each package to add a touch of surprise and delight for the customer.
The Juno App
The Juno app provides 24/7 monitoring of pet's whereabouts, ensuring that if they wander off, owner’s will receive an immediate notification on their phone directing them to their exact location. From there, owners will be able to easily navigate to their pet's location and bring them home safely.
