PLASTICS - exhibition

 

PLASTICS are with us every step of the way, at home, at work, on the street. They are easy to manufacture and form into any desirable shape. Once, disposable products. Today, more often, they become reusable. Sometimes industrially recycled and other times repurposed in the comfort of one's own home.

 

The exhibition comprises two parts. The functional part is made of used PET bottles, which were repurposed into sculpture-toys. They can bu admired, hurled across surfaces or moved like chess in a game. The forms can also become a labirynths for small children.

The suspended part of the exhibition is an installation made of repurposed drinking straws bound together with a plastic string recycled from plastic packaging. The form spreads to indicate the issue of plastics discarded within the human habitat.
