Consumer Electronics Show

Since getting on our family’s 386 computer at the age of 6, I’ve always had a passion for technology. It’s amazing how contemporary science has enabled our lives to do things we couldn’t have considered. I even started drawing with a mouse long before I did on paper. So it was a really unique opportunity to use what current technology has enabled me to do now in order to represent the technology of the future.

The Consumer Electronics show is an annual event in New York for manufacturers to show off their latest technology bound for the market. For the tech community, this large convention becomes one of the primary windows into the future to see how our lives will be shaped by the objects we own and what modern technology and manufacturing is capable of.
I’ve recently learned the mechanics of digital 3D modeling and animation, and enjoy experimenting with the precise and technical nature of the medium to create abstract forms that I couldn’t have envisioned on my own. These digital creations served as the stepping stone for this project, representing the unexpected nature of our relationship with technology. With energetic and mechanical type I sought to capture the systematic, yet chaotic nature of the field that is rapidly enveloping our lives.
