Flashes of Hope is a fantastic national charity focusing on childhood cancer. While, like many other charities, they fund research to prevent, treat, and cure cancer, what sets them apart is right in their name: Photography.

 

Grappling with a child's cancer changes a family's priorities and finances. By partnering with commercial photographers to provide free portrait sessions at the hospital, Flashes of Hope allows families to remember their battle—or, in some less fortunate cases, their child.

 

I've been fortunate enough to volunteer my services to FoH on more than one occasion. It's an experience that at once is both heartwarming and heart-rending.
