Our client approached us with the need for developing a universal clip for the food industry.
The initial brief stated that it should be a sealing product which can be used for different types of food packaging, e.g. cookies and toast.
Prior to moving ahead and developing the first product concept the following requirements were defined:
Functionality
- food safe plastic material
- the clip should have a firm grip
- easy handling while sealing a food packaging and while removing it
- a high durability and no change in terms of shape even after using the product for an extended period of time
- a printing surface which offers enough space for a rather complex full color logo
Aesthetics
- simple, soft, mildly curved, fluid shape
- suitable and easy on the eye for packages of different shapes and sizes
Ergonomics
- comfortable to your fingers when using it (takes only your thumb and index finger)
