Gem Animals Playing Cards v1

Final Year Design Project
This project was inspired by animals that can be found in Trinidad. I wanted to show the beauty of the selected animals. Diamonds where placed on them as a symbol of value and it’s also a symbol of what the average person would be attracted to and value more. Most people wear jewellery daily and we are attracted to things that shine.
The selected animals habitat are under threat. The Macaws are often captured for their exotic look and smuggled. In Costa Rica the scarlet macaw are frequently stolen from its nest and can be bought for $200 US and in the United States, baby birds smuggled into the country can be sold for as much as $4,000. The Ocelot is on the endangered list, based on my research approximately 300 can be found in the wild, and there is not much information about them and the data we have is old. The otter is also listed as an endangered animal, and the species had declined due to habit lose and hunting. The Capuchin Monkey are captured and sold as pets. These animals are protected under the Conservation of Wildlife Act,  in 2013 Environment and Water Resources Minister, Ganga Singh issued a two-year moratorium on hunting as in three years a total of 140,000 animals was hunted.
