The tradition of "Las Palancas". The significant influence of the Pre-Columbian era, some traditional dances of that time are still preserved in La Paz department. One of them being: Las Palancas de la Santa Cruz and the other: El Tigre & El Venado.
The dance of the tiger and the deer, narrates the combat of a hunter against a tiger that tries to steal the deer that he has just caught.
