Hereby I present to you the Killer Bees' revolution against beekeepers. They don't want to live in a dictatorship any longer. They want independence, and they will take it by any means necessary!
This is a personal project I made over the weekend.
I noticed that a lot of dead bees were appearing in my house, and soon I found out that this was due to some pesticides someone used in their backyard.
I could smell it from the balcony. That can't be too good, right?
So... I started by very roughly sketching out the character and laying out the idea on the first and ugliest piece of paper I found.
Hey, don't judge me! When creativity strikes you better take it!

For the grass, I modeled a couple of simple grasses and made a basic Geometry Nodes setup to scatter them all over a ground plane:
And that's pretty much it. For the materials, I made some basic procedural textures in Blender:
I composited everything using Blender's compositing features. Nothing too fancy, just a couple of adjustments:
Lastly, I worked on the hair grooming for the character. Again, nothing too fancy. I just used Blender's basic hair particle system:
Thank you so much for staying and checking out this post! I really appreciate it.
I left a couple of images you can download for free!

Take care of your neighborhood's bees! They're great for the environment, and essential for the life as we know it.
Best of wishes,
Zalo.
