INSOMNIAE II
While I was composing this piece, I re-discovered some footage I’ve taken some time ago for a time-lapse experiment, where an unexpected actor decided to take stage.
I re-wrote the music according to this footage and then adapted the film so that the music triggers synchronized motion.

I wanted to keep the music and visuals as minimal as possible and as raw as possible : One night for the music and one night for the film and effects.

I wanted it to feel like insomnia where any attempt to meditate is disturbed by elements keeping us on the edge, preventing us to let go completely. I wanted it to sound like desperate search for a melodic pattern, wishing mind and body would finally reach the clouds.

Tech :
- The music was composed and recorded in Propellerhead Reason
- The film done with Photoshop CC for the initial raw processing and two passes in CC After Effects experimenting with the AE scripting

Composed, performed, edited, post-produced during a couple of nights in April 2014
INSOMNIAE I
Clock ticking
Again and again
Sometimes a melodic pattern seems to succeed and stops the clock
But only for a moment
