    The Mercedes-Benz world cup 2014 TVC is based on a single visual premise: always going forward. This we achieved by creating a one shot ad that uses no cuts at all, but unique visual transitions and illusions. All supported by a driving sound track of the British band Rudimental and a bold sound design. This steady forward motion also is true for the German national team and Mercedes-Benz itself – they both constantly progress and never stop improving. World cup songs have a long tradition. Sadly, in Germany, it’s not a good one: Countless cheesy and sometimes just plain bad football songs get released every time a major football championship is approaching.
This year however, Mercedes-Benz broke the mold. And co-created a world cup song with the famous German rapper Mister Santos, that combined a well-known German football phrase (to get „the thing“) with a catchy rhythm.
With the help of countless cameos of German celebrities, the Youtube video became a viral hit and thus helped the song to chart in the iTunes top 100.
