"Cooking Outside the Lines" Narrative Experience Design

The main piece of the narrative design was a cook book that included tips from the "chefs," shopping tips, and more.
Two sets of cards accompany the booklet as story-telling aids. The first set are Pro-Tip cards with chef tips from each child and the second set are recipe cards for both the main "fruit" salad and the side salad.
The back of the recipe cards are colorable and crayons are also provided. The crayons are only green and yellow to play off the fact that Camden insisted on only using yellow and green fruits and vegetables. Crayon covers utilizing the iconography and title were made for four crayons.
The apron is child sized to act as a visual aid and demonstrate the age range of the children involved in this project.
Included in the Cooking Outside the Lines set is a toy knife and cutting board set. The knife is labeled with directions to cut with the dull side as Ryan made a point of doing when he helped cut bananas.
Also included in the set are a toy banana, green pepper, and pear. The toys invite viewers to play and interact with the story.
The housing form for the set was a toy grocery basket to play off of the childrens' shopping experience.
