THE FAIRIES and THE SPIRITS
IN OUR GARDEN
My mother and I believe that every flower and every tree in our garden has its own spirit. We may not understand everything about the mystery of nature. But if we respect nature, we always find peace in our mind.
Cosmos is a little hunter of our garden. He is strong and brave. He hates rain.
Mr. Tea and Jasmine – He is a courteous prince and Jasmine is his servant. Jasmine loves rice cakes so much. During teatime, she eats the entire cakes on the plate, even the prince’s part. Mr. Tea just smiles, he always indulges her.
The Violet Wood-sorrel Sisters – They are the most outstanding vocalists. Their beautiful melodies can make all flowers bloom.
Melastoma is a swordswoman. She is cold and intelligent. She can move faster than the blink of an eye. Most of the time, we just can see her purple shadow.
Cuban Oregano is a disciple of The Wise. He is so sensitive. And when he feels blue, a perfume is released, smelling of resin.
Perilla is an ancient witch. Her favorite drink is perilla tea with honey. Some say that her tea can heal wandering ghosts, make them forget everything in this life and take them to the next life.
White Cedar is a soldier. He is very knowledgeable about martial arts techniques. He is the strong, silent type, and always embarrassed in front of ladies.
Pomegranate is a psychic. She hears the voices from the other side so she helps people in our garden talk to their ancestors.
Coral Vine is a pious fairy. At our little temple, she offers incense and flowers on the day of the full moon monthly. She prays for peace to all the people in our garden.
