Through Which the Universe Shines
This is the first installment in the ⌘+ALTar series, featuring Alyssa Aparicio as the model. This was a project crafted and launched by The Current Sea.
For this project I:
• Assisted in capturing the footage.
• Assisted in editing the video down to GIF form.
• Developed and Designed the website.
• Composed and Recorded 12 looping audio files inspired by the animated GIFs.
The series, ⌘ALTAR, combines animated GIF, photography, sound and net art to produce a truely unique experience.
For You Are the Prism we wanted a spacey, futuristic feeling that still felt organic. The idea that we're celebrating ourselves in a (virtual) universe that we created and curated is a running theme in this peice.
The musical compositions are designed for and inspired by Internet. Each track is short and intended to loop continuously in conjunction with a particular image. In the case of You Are the Prism, the still images function as Play Buttons which trigger the loops, while simultaneously animating the previously-static picture.
