Joan of Arc, also known as the Maiden of Orleans, was a French peasant girl who played a crucial role in the restoration of the French crown in the Hundred Years War.
Saint and heroine of France, she was born in January 1412 in Domrémy. She died at the age of 19, on May 30, 1431, burned at the stake accused of heresy by the Inquisition in Rouen.
