Hex is a Beatiful project that I did a couple of moths before. I met Pavel thanks to the behance community and we started to make this idea plenty of our thougths and feelings about the platforms and "jump and punch" games. The old school type.
Platform games originated in the early 1980s in side-scrolling video games, followed by 3D successors in the mid-1990s. The term itself describes games where jumping on platforms is an integral part of the gameplay and came into use after the genre had been established, no later than 1983. It is not a pure genre; it is frequently coupled with elements of other genres, such as the shooter elements in Contra, the adventure elements of Flashback, or the role-playing game elements of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

We should find a way to make awesome structures and burn the idea of the cookie cutted things around the map. There are many parts I made which we could use to create new platforms for the next levels. This level in particular has some close structures's reference from rayman but We did a great job I think working on the look and the special feeling on these first lanes of pilot stages.
This much of objects around the map was a problem sometimes. That's why we made the yellow color our safe color around the stages, to make it more intuitive for the players. The red was our choise to the bad things then. and that way It's easy to read don't you think.

We should redefine all the colors at the middle of the process in order to put it on a more accurate way for the users
