Hello! My name is Valya and I was born in Ukrainian Crimea.

In 2014, when I was 15 years old, Russia came to my home. My family and I were forced to move from there. We were afraid to be imprisoned or killed because of our love for our country. Many people who had a pro-Ukrainian position and stayed in Crimea were repressed.
Also, Russia took our apartment and settled soldiers' families there.

Time has passed and the world forgot about us, this injustice, Crimea, and the Crimean people.

Now we have a huge and terrible war in Ukraine. But this time I am the nearest to returning home, to see my family and the places I was raised in. For this reason, I launched this personal illustration project which reminds people of Crimea. You will see some of the most popular places there and get to know some facts about them.

Crimea is Ukrainian! Слава Україні, Героям Слава!

On February 24, 2023, the Ukrainian flag appeared in the center of Sevastopol.
On March 23, 2023, a video of the Ukrainian flag near Sudak appeared.

It is difficult, but Crimean people continue to struggle.

From the first days of the invasion in 2022, Russia occupied Ukrainian Snake Island.
With this, Russia blocked the Ukrainian opportunity to trade by sea, which is crucial for our economy.

On April 14, 2022, Ukrainian heroes sank the main military cruiser Moskva. This unlocked the opportunity to return our island.

More about this outstanding operation you could watch in this video.

On June 30, Ukraine liberated Snake Island. In honor of this, I drew the following illustration.

Together with other Ukrainian artists, I sent some of my works to European exhibitions and fairs that support Ukraine.

THANK YOU FOR WATCHING
