For my first piece, I used just paper and glue. I wanted the theme to represent good and evil, using both white and black to represent the taoist Yin and Yang symbol. I printed out quotes from famous philosophers and intellectual thinkers, putting in the background of the piece. I then cut out the darker and lighter collage pages to fill out the shape of the Yin and Yang.
For the second collage art, I wanted to represent character. I also wanted to use another philosopher and I remembered Socrates. He was poisoned for spreading information so I printed out a page from his book and "censored" out some of the words. I also printed out a photo of Socrates sculpture and scribbled out his eyes, signifying his death from his work. I used crayons and sharpie for that part.
