2014 Portfolio Show Branding

THE PROBLEM
Every year, the AIGA portfolio review gives students a chance to display their work in front of professionals. And every year, the review has a theme. What would this year’s be?
 
SOLUTION STRATEGY
The branding for the show has to connect to both students and professionals, as well as the attendees. It needed to be something eye-catching, straightforward, and relate to the rigor behind the months and years preceding the review.
 
CONCEPT
The headline for the branding, “We made it,” has dual meanings. First, the students are relieved to have finally made it to the review day. Second, everything at the review has been made by the students themselves for display.
 
FINISHED PRODUCT
All icons for the review signage were hand cut to relate back to the second part of the “We made it” concept. Bright, flat planes of color were used to ensure an eye-catching layout, and to provide adequate contrast to the images.
