[PROJECT] 'THE HIDE OUT' VISITOR CENTER

As the main building for the resort, the building is the space that catches most attention from visitors, but at the same time, it should not be exposed or seen from far. Its designs aim to create a somewhat hidden sanctuary within the forest.
The building form is influenced by Khmer local housing, and the space design is simple yet functional. The structure is divided into two parts: the entrance space and the service space. In between spaces, there is an area to create an inside-out green. The roof opens for green space and an open interior space with fewer partitions to expose it to environmental context, providing sunlight and ventilation through the building, and it will not block nature's view surrounding it.
The building entrance has a "Vertical Lines Structure" which resembles all those standing trees in the forest. This main element will accompany visitors along the entrance path, giving a fascinating view from the building and making it more inviting to enter the space without hesitation. Existing local materials such as stone, bamboo, and timber were used as building structure, body, and decoration to ensure minimal visual impact on the context.
