D&AD Best of New Blood Student Award work

D&AD Best of New Blood
I was extremely lucky to win a D&AD award for some of my student work. When I found out I was over the moon and thought I was going to take over the world. I didn't. And I still won't, however to win an accolade like that when graduating is an amazing experience and I'm still immensely proud of it.

The work that won the award is the campaign for Colgate below. I've been wanting to redesign it since then as I think the layout could do with some improvement, but I've been told not to do it as it would be tampering with winning work. Anyway, the idea was the winner rather than the design. It still makes me laugh today, and cry. The lady in the photo is my dear friend Russ' late mother, who sadly lost her battle with cancer a few years after.

The other pieces are also student works that I'm very proud of the creative process behind. The IMAX campaign was part of a portfolio including works that got published in the Annual AWARD book in Australia in 2002. Again an extremely proud moment. The Tate moden one just makes me smile. It's a genuine postcard that we found there. Who could argue that it wasn't brillent...?
