Dracula, the vampires staged

Dracula
the monsters among us
Dracula, the father of all vampires. Creatures of the night, they feed with humans, sucking their blood and energy source.
I grew up way after the golden age of Hollywood, but just in time for the golden age of... Cartoon-Network. Even more lucky in my home country, CN was running shows like Tom and Jerry, Samurai Jack and most importantly for the sake of the story-ScoobyDoo. Now this show might not be as original as others, and it had a repetitive arch in literally every episode, but turned out-that was the whole idea all along.

We start with our band. They drive, they hop on a boat, and arrive on a new location, they find clues, that it has been haunted by a mysterious creature..
after some cat and mouse game, quick investigation, they manage to catch the villain!
revealing, that it was a human with a mask or suite all along...

You see, I think all they really wanted was to find a mysterious creature, a really really bad and gruesome one. Were they disappointed that it was always an actor under the mask?
But after the applause evil did not seem to stop?

Going back to the show. Did they really catch the wrongful doer? Or was the real monster hiding in plain site, just behind your back.
Dracula, you don't scare me anymore, but maybe you should.
