The Central Business District (CBD)

The Central Business District
A central business district (CBD) is the commercial and business center of a city.
In the desert 50 kilometers east of Cairo, a new city is rising, the new administrative capital of Egypt. Today, a modern high-rise building of the New Capital CBD project has become a beautiful scenery in the vast desert.

The total construction area of the project is nearly 1.7 million square meters, including 12 office buildings, 5 residential buildings, two international hotels, and “the tallest building in Africa”, the Iconic Tower with a height of 385.5 meters.

The New Capital CBD project is an architectural marvel created by Egyptian and Chinese engineers, which will not only become a new landmark in Egypt, but also an important symbol of Egyptian modernization.

The Iconic Tower located in Egypt's new capital CBD Project is 385 meters in height and the tallest #skyscraper in Africa.

During the construction, CSCEC (Egypt) adopted many new technologies and advanced machinery during the installment of façades of the building. Let's take a close look at the incredible new technologies.

CSCEC (Egypt) has applied a variety of installation technologies and solutions to add efficiency to its work. For instance, the vertical delivery of façades has been made possible with the support of a super mobile unloading platform.

The installation of façades is done through premade cantilever cranes, track-type movable lifting equipment and the technology of high-altitude steel wire rope locking platform. This is the first application of such advanced tech in Egypt.

Hyperbolic unitized aluminum plate façades are used in the tower zipper beams of the Iconic Tower. This is also the first-ever installation of hyperbolic façades in Egypt.

In addition, the Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology has been used for data analysis of phased construction plans as well as the overall construction process to ensure the feasibility of all construction qq and achieve the highest daily installation of 183 unitized boards.

The tallest and largest residential towers in Africa are about 200m above finished ground level and consist of 48 floors including lower & upper ground floors in addition to one basement floor. The podium's main function is retail on two levels while the rest of the 46 floors of the tower are dedicated for Residential use. The 2 basement level are used for parking and MEP services. The total BUA of each tower is approximately 171500 square meters.
