25 Encounters is a book comprised of 25 in-depth conversations in pairs, between 50 people who in one way or another are connected to cinema. These invitees cover all aspects of what a film festival means: filmmakers and artists, journalists and audience members, activists and academics, students and cinephiles, volunteers and employees of the festival. The conversations that resulted read as a nostalgic retrospective, an artistic quest, a visionary dream for the future or a curious exploration on making film. Each of the encounters was uniquely designed and illustrated to correspond with the theme, tone & subject matter of every participant’s contribution & personal story.
