Cover and illustrations for poetry book
"Na Borra do meu Café" is a book of poetry divided into three parts, such as day, morning, afternoon and night, contemplating the author's experiences and way of life in each of them.
The book's internal illustrations were initially made in word itself, to have a better idea of how to merge text and image, before being thrown into photoshop to be redone, with more attention, for the first page, dedication, index, and every part that separates the poems and the days.
A specific font was created for the book, to be used in the title, dedication, index, the texts of the parts that separate the book, and in the numbering of the poems, with the purpose of making the experience more intimate, since the font was made based on the author's handwriting when writing in print, named Handmademy-regular.
In addition to drawings for the initial page, dedication and each part, a drawing was also made for the page numbers, again a cup of coffee with smoke surrounding the numbers.
In the cover illustrations, more scribbled drawings were used in simple, as well as looser digital painting, stylized with filters, to make it more textured, and even the author's photo was transformed into a drawing following the style of the cover so that it spoke better with concept.
The cover was built with Photoshop and Indesign, seeking to follow the concept of simplicity and sincerity of the book's content, in the same design style, and with a color palette in pastel and earthy tones, seeking comfort, and proximity, shades of gray and white for the coffee smoke, clouds and stars, soft blues for the sky, and yellows for the sun. The font created for the work was also reused here on the cover, to better communicate with the content.
