This was my first serious solo project. The task was to design and engineer rugged 12 inch Tablet for a industrial use. 

Desired specs: 

- Intel i5/i7 COMExpress changeable CPU module

- IP65

- USB3.0/2.0, HDMI, LAN, Sound(in and out), 19V, RS232 rugged interfaces. Slots for MiniPCI, SSD and Authrization 

- 2 Cameras, 1 barcode reader, touchscreen, trackball, buttons and ability to enter passwords prior screen keyboard load.

That's a final results:

And now the process. All the design was made from pencil sketch and renders to CAD model of a test sample.

For this project the custom assembly of a thin copper radiator was made (as we did not have means to produce stamped radiator) which lead to the ability to create a functional active cooling system.

Now, when the design was approved, the test parts were made, painted and assambled. These are the photos of parts and assembly: 

After the test assembly and some climatic and kinetic tests - the flaws in the design were seen and fixed. Leading to the next, serial version of this tablet. I will share it's photos later.
