I wanted to develop a fully interactive mobile application for CUNY students as an add on feature to the online system that we currently use to enroll for classes, check our class schedules, exam dates, make payments, etc.  Hence, I took this opportunity to develop one using Fireworks and also sent it to my advisor in case CUNY decides to develop it.  Below are just a few of the pages from the mobile app that is in total 38 pages currently.  I can't put all of them up in case I'm selected to develop it further.  Right now, the 38-pager interactive file is tailored only to students, but I want it to incorporate it for faculty and staff use as well.  The mock ups use an android Samsung Galaxy S3 phone.

The CUNYfirst icon under the apps tab on a mobile phone.
As soon as a student clicks on the icon, they would be taken to this screen - the log in screen.  The first time they do this, they will see an "Enroll Now" button enrolling them with permission to use the mobile app on their phone.  Every time afterwards the "Enroll Now" button would be replaced with a simple "Submit" button.
Upon enrolling or submitting the log in information, the screen will take the student to the Main Menu, for which they can select where they'd like to go next.  If they click on Enrollment, the Enrollment menu will appear (see below), and so on.
Enrollment Menu.  From here the student can check what dates have been assigned to them to enroll in a particular semester.  If they've already enrolled, they will have the ability to drop a class, add a class or swap one class section for another.  They can use the Class Search/ Browse Catalog feature to look up courses that they want to take.  Once they have a schedule set, they can have a weekly breakdown of their Class Schedule as well as be able to view their grades from previous semesters.  See below for a snippet of one of each.
Enrollment dates listed for the upcoming Semester.
The menu page that will allow a student to add, swap or drop a course, and they'll be able to select where they are adding the course from and for which semester they are adding it to.  Once they make the selection, they will click on the "Enroll Now" button to have that class added to their schedule for that semester.  If they are dropping a course, the button would change to say "Drop Now".
The student selects a term/ semester they would like to view their grades for and it automatically gets shown in the small square window below it.  Note: the fields are all pull-down menus for the most part on these pages.
A snapshot of what the cart would look like before the student enrolls in the classes he/ she has selected.  If they wish to add more, they can click on the "Add More" button and it will take them back to the Search/ Browse Catalog screen.  If they are content with their selections, they can simply click "Enroll Now" and they will automatically be enrolled into all of the courses on their cart.
Once they've enrolled, they'll see this page and then they can log out of the system or go to another portion of the online mobile app by clicking on the CUNYfirst icon which appears on every window on the application.
This is who the weekly schedule would look for the student after they've completed enrolling for the most current semester.
The app would give students vital information about who their advisor is, where they are located, what their office hours and days are.  This would help the students in knowing when they should plan to go see their advisor for any questions/ concerns they have about their major.
Students could enroll in a payment plan (i.e. direct deposit) as well as manage any accounts they've already set up straight through their phone.  A feature currently not available on the website to students.
Students could view their financial aid info as well as have quick access to their tax forms straight off their phone as well.
Seniors, who are in their last year in their major, can apply for graduation or check their status towards graduation.  The status screen will tell them whether they are enrolled or not.  If they are not enrolled, they'll be able to enroll by applying for graduation.  Once they've applied, the system will inform them that they've successfully applied for graduation and for which semester.
These are only a few of the mobile app features that I feel comfortable sharing right now as the fully interactive version is reserved for the university if they decide to move forward on developing the mobile application for their students, faculty and staff.
